September 6-7, 2022
On September 6, after a massive artillery barrage, Ukrainian units launched an offensive from the direction of Andriivka against the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in Balakliya. Until about a week ago, it became known that the AFU had been forming a striking force in the Izyum direction, accumulating reserves of personnel and equipment.
Ukrainian units managed to develop success and advance in a number of directions, not leaving attempts to encircle Balakliya, but the Allied Forces' reserves came up and stopped the advance in some areas. The operational goal of the AFU is to reach the Kharkiv-Izyum highway near Vesele and Kun’je in order to encircle the Russian grouping in Izyum.
